Cancellations and Rescheduling
We require rescheduling or cancelling at least 24 hours before the beginning of your appointment time with us.*
We understand that life happens, so the first cancellation within 24 hours prior to the appointment time is forgiven. However, keep in mind that you may be asked to pre-pay for your next appointment with us. This is because a cancellation means a loss of income for the business and the groomer, as it is likely that we will not be able to replace appointment slots same-day.
*You can reach us via Text, Phone or Email in the event of a cancellation or reschedule.
De-Matting
Pets that are not groomed on a regular basis (every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the breed and coat type) may become matted.
Matting occurs from lack of grooming, coat overgrowth, or not routinely being brushed. Additional fees may apply for de-matting a pet.
When matting is severe and/or close to the skin the only humane and healthy decision for the pet is to remove the mats by shaving the coat off entirely. In some cases where the matting is not severe and only covers a small area, we can remove them by splitting, thinning, and then brushing them out. Any matting can extend the groom time. Matted coats are hard on our equipment and in most cases require two haircuts to remove the matted coat prior to bathing and evening up the coat after bathing.
We are not responsible for health conditions that may be revealed by removing a matted coat such as sores, but do our best to ensure your pets’ skin is cared for.
Vaccinations
We require pets over 4 months old to have had their rabies vaccination. In the event of a bite, you should be willing and able to provide proof of their rabies vaccine.
Fleas and Ticks
When you arrive for your grooming appointment, sometimes it is difficult to tell if there are fleas or ticks present until we give your pet a bath or start to dry them.
We will make an effort to contact you as soon as we notice any fleas or ticks. We will always then do a flea bath and remove any ticks that we find. Do keep in mind that there is an extra charge for both: $15 charge for flea shampoo on a dog or cat and $2 (per tick) for tick removal.
Flea baths only kill the fleas that are currently on the pet and do not protect them from fleas once they get home. It is best to wait a few days after their grooming to put flea medication on your pet’s skin.
If a tick was found on your pet at the time of service, it may be beneficial to seek veterinary treatment.
Veterinary Care
Though unlikely, should your pet become ill or appear in need of medical attention at the time of service, we will contact you as soon as possible. If we are unable to reach you or need to administer aid immediately, we will use our best discretionary decision-making skills to seek medical attention for your pet (e.g. the nearest veterinary hospital).
Aggressive Pets and other Causes for Discontinued Services
We reserve the right to refuse service, or to stop a groom in progress, if your pet may pose a threat to themselves, or our groomers (whether it be due to an aggression problem, health problem, or a parasite problem other than fleas and ticks).
